Preening Blue Heron

This is absolutely one of my favorite photos I've ever taken of a blue heron!

It was a slightly foggy afternoon following days of relentless rain. I went out to observe the local wildlife life and this gorgeous blue heron was perched amongst some trees. It was enjoying the clearing up of the weather as much I was. I stood calmly as I watched this heron contort and fluff out its feathers as it cleaned and straightened its plumage.

This photo would look wonderful in a home, office, lobby, hotel, or even in a bathroom as this bird was cleaning and primping itself just as we would.
