The Elusive Night Heron

For me local wildlife photography journey, the night heron has been one of the most elusive birds for me to ever see or photograph. Words cannot adequately describe the joy I felt when I finally saw some night herons perched in some nearby trees. The afternoon was slowly waning into the evening with a glorious sunset over the marsh. The night herons were slowly waking up and getting ready for their nocturnal activities. It reminded me of the 20+ years of shift work I've done as I would slowly wake up and head off to the midnight shift.
